Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-01 · Effective 1 October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the learning services at openfraudlabs.com, including courses, lessons, quizzes, capstone projects and certificates (the “Services”), provided by Open Fraud Labs, Lagos, Nigeria (“Open Fraud Labs”, “we”, “us”). Please read them carefully.
1. Agreement and electronic signature
By creating an account you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You sign these Terms electronically by typing your full name, which must match the name you register with. Your typed name is your electronic signature and has the same effect as a handwritten signature. We keep a record of your signature, the Terms version and the date and time you signed.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
- Register under your real full legal name. It is the name that appears on any certificate you earn, and each account is for one person only.
- Keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Keep your details accurate. If your name changes, update it in your account before claiming a certificate.
4. The courses
Courses are currently free. Lessons are released over time, and we may update, reorder, pause or retire course content. Lessons are educational and general in nature; they are not professional, financial or legal advice.
5. Academic integrity
- Quizzes and capstone projects must be your own work.
- Do not share quiz answers, complete work for another learner, use another person’s account, or submit work you did not create without clear credit.
- When you submit a capstone project you sign a declaration that it is your own work.
- If we find a breach, we may reset progress, reject submissions, revoke certificates and suspend or close accounts.
6. Certificates
- A certificate is issued when you pass every lesson quiz in a course and your capstone project is approved.
- Certificates are certificates of course completion from Open Fraud Labs. They are not accredited academic or professional qualifications.
- Each certificate has a unique ID. Anyone with the ID can confirm your name, the course and the issue date on our verification page.
- We may revoke a certificate obtained through false information or a breach of these Terms.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of the projects and write-ups you submit. You give Open Fraud Labs permission to store, review and assess them, and to keep records of them for verifying certificates. We will not publish your work without asking you first.
8. Our content
Lessons, videos, quizzes, study notes and other course materials belong to Open Fraud Labs or its licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial learning. Do not copy, resell or republish them without permission. Course videos are also published on TikTok and are subject to TikTok’s own terms.
9. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Services: no attempts to access other people’s accounts or data, interfere with the website, scrape quizzes or answers, upload harmful code, or use the Services for anything unlawful, harassing or misleading.
10. Third-party services
The Services link to and rely on third parties such as TikTok, GitHub and our hosting providers. We are not responsible for their content, availability or terms.
11. Disclaimer
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep content accurate and the website running, but we do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that completing a course will lead to any job, admission or other outcome.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Open Fraud Labs is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the free Services. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Ending your account
You can stop using the Services and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@openfraudlabs.com. If your account is deleted, your certificates can no longer be verified. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we make important changes, we will update the version and date above and may ask you to sign the new version before you continue using the Services.
